From November 16th to December 30th, Queen’s Park transforms into Miracle on 24th Street, a magical, over-the-top holiday extravaganza. With a special menu of 12 cocktails, 2 shots, nonalcoholic drinks, large format cocktails in disco balls, and nostalgic snacks, plus a rockin’ holiday soundtrack and more tinsel than you can shake a stick at, Miracle on 24th Street is Birmingham’s premiere (and only) holiday pop up bar.
What is Miracle?
Miracle is a temporary, Christmas-themed “bar within a bar” pop up that takes over Queen’s Park from November 16th until December 30th. During Miracle, we run a special menu of Christmas-themed cocktails, play holiday music, hold festive events, and revel in the holiday spirit.
What are your hours?
Miracle on 24th Street is open 7 days a week.
We are open Sunday through Thursday from 4pm to 12am. We are open on Friday & Saturday from 4pm to 2am. If we are busy within 15 minutes of our posted closing times, the bar staff may decide to continue service at their discretion for up to 90 minutes.
Miracle on 24th Street does not do happy hour.
What is your seating policy during Miracle?
During Miracle, we allow entry for seating and standing room on a first-come, first-served basis in order to ensure that each guest has a magical experience and to maintain a safe environment for our staff and guests due to enormous demand. We only seat complete parties; guests can wait at our 4 standing tables or at the bar until the rest of their group arrives, per the discretion of our staff. We are generally unable to accommodate groups of more than 9 seated at the same table. We will do everything in our power to accommodate guests who want to join parties that are already inside, but cannot guarantee that seating or space will be available.
Do you take reservations?
While we are happy to accept limited reservations for groups of 6 or more the other 46 weeks of the year, during Miracle we are unable to accommodate reservations of any size. We allow entry on a first-come, first-served basis.
How do I know if you’ll be closed for a private event?
Changes to our posted hours due to private events are posted below, to our Google Business Page, our Facebook page, Instagram, and our Instagram stories. Our digital team is happy to direct you to these resources if you send us a DM or email.
The below are hours we are CLOSED to the public on private event days.
Monday, December 4th - open to the public from 8pm to midnight; closed from 4pm-8pm.
Thursday, December 7th - open to the public from 8pm to midnight; closed from 4pm-8pm.
Tuesday, December 19th - open to the public from 4pm to 8pm; closed from 8pm onwards.
Do you serve food?
We serve an extremely limited menu of prepackaged, ready-to-eat snacks. Due to supply chain issues, we cannot guarantee that all snacks will be available at all times.
Can I bring my dog?
Normally Queen’s Park is a dog-friendly venue. However, due to how busy the bar gets during the holidays, pet dogs are not permitted inside at any time during Miracle. You’re welcome to bring Fido once we reopen in January.
Do you have parking?
Due to our urban location, Queen’s Park/Miracle on 24th Street has no dedicated parking. Cars parked anywhere in the lots across 24th Street or behind our building (off 2nd Avenue) will be towed by the owners of those properties.
We recommend parking on 1st or 2nd Avenue, which do not charge meter fees after 6pm. Additionally, there is a pay to park lot off of 2nd and 3rd Avenues between 24th and 23rd Streets.
Are you open on Thanksgiving?
We are open from 7pm-12am on Thanksgiving 11/23
Are you open on Christmas?
We are open from 4-8pm on Christmas Eve 12/24
We are open from 8pm to midnight on Christmas Day 12/25
What about New Year’s Eve?
The last night of Miracle is Friday, December 30th. Queen’s Park is closed on New Year’s Eve to give our hardworking staff a break, but we encourage everyone to visit our sister bar, Neon Moon, which is located around the corner at 2316 2nd Avenue North and will be open on NYE.
Why did someone get to skip the line?
We move guests through our line as space becomes available. If your group of 4 is at the front of the line but a table for 2 opens up first (and the tables next to them are still occupied), the next party of 2 will be seated first.
Members of the Hotel Registry, our rewards club for patrons who visit us throughout the year, receive cards permitting them to skip the Miracle line. In order to become a Hotel Registry guest, you must visit us throughout the rest of the year. Hotel Registry cards are not available for purchase.
Can I see a menu? Do you serve beer? What’s your cheapest drink?

THE GRAND HOTEL
Port of Spain, Trinidad. 1895.
What’s in a name? We named our bar after the Queen’s Park Swizzle, a cocktail created at the Queen’s Park Hotel, located in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The hotel enjoyed moderate success until 1920, when the purchase and consumption of alcohol in the United States was made more or less illegal by the 18th Amendment. Overnight, Americans who had the means to travel began to leave the country on weekend trips to the Caribbean, where they could drink legally. Hotel management hired now-unemployable bartenders from major US cities, who brought with them scores of regulars as well as decades of cocktail expertise. Tasked with coming up with a signature drink for the hotel, these bartenders took the wildly popular Daiquiri - made with rum, sugar, and lime - and put it on crushed ice, dressing up the drink with the addition of mint and a float of locally made Angostura bitters. A star was born - the drink was a sensation that endured throughout the years, with Trader Vic proclaiming it “the most delightful form of anesthesia given out today” in 1946.
While the original Queen’s Park Hotel closed in 1996, our bar carries on the spirit of its namesake with incredible hospitality, lesser-known classic cocktails made with exacting precision and consistency, and décor that harkens to that grand hotel.

Going into our 5th year of Miracle, we are a well-oiled machine when it comes to crafting a seamless private event experience. Buyouts are available for full and half nights; they are also the only way to guarantee entry to Miracle on 24th Street as we do not take reservations and operate on a first come, first served basis.

THE TEAM
Larry “Mudd” Townley is a Birmingham native who has worked in the Birmingham bar scene for 14 years. He most recently served as the general manager for Dave’s Pub, where he worked for 10 years, during which he also served on the board of the Five Points Merchants Association. For the past several years he has created the signature “Taste of Five Points” cocktail, which is featured throughout the neighborhood. He has appeared on AL.com, WBRC, and WIAT. In his spare time, Larry works with youth rugby and the Birmingham Humane Society.
Laura Newman is a Brooklyn native who moved to Birmingham, Alabama in the spring of 2017. While she initially intended for the move to be temporary, she was so taken by the thriving local food and beverage scene that she eventually decided to open a bar in the booming downtown Loft District.
While in New York City, Laura worked at bars and restaurants such as Dover, Bergen Hill, Bacchanal, and Sweet Polly, and served as the assistant beverage director for Mother of Pearl and Cienfuegos. Laura also served as the St-Germain Brooklyn brand ambassador.
Laura is a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, has a degree in hospitality management from the Institute of Culinary Education, served in the Cocktail Apprentice Program at Tales of the Cocktail 2016, and has presented at numerous industry events and seminars, such as the Nightclub & Bar Show and USBG Regional Conferences.
She and her work have been featured in publications such as Time Out New York, Beverage Media, Food & Wine, Tasting Table, Coastal Living, and Liquor.com. She has also been featured in books such as Maggie Hoffman’s The One Bottle Cocktail and Clair McLafferty’s Romantic Cocktails. Laura is a regular columnist for Bourbon+ Magazine.
In 2018, she was the first woman to win the Diageo World Class US competition and placed second at the global finals in Berlin.

We do not accept reservations for parties of any size and admit guests on a first-come, first-served basis. The only way to reserve space at a guaranteed time is to do a full bar buyout. We promise that most groups don’t have to wait that long (if at all) to get in, even on weekends.
We do not have dedicated parking and you will be towed from the lots across 24th Street. Please use street parking or the pay-to-park lot on 2nd Avenue between 24th and 23rd streets.
